Community Push has been at it for years pushing the skateboard culture of Detroit in a progressive and healthy direction. Alongside Community Push, Levi's Skateboarding has played a great role in our scene as well by helping to launch what was the Rosa Parks Boys space. We're excited to announce that Community Push and Levi's Skateboarding have come together, with additional local support from shops across Metro Detroit, on a project that hits close to home: the development of The Roosevelt Skatepark. Located in the heart of Corktown Detroit, right up front of the Central Train Station, there has been talk for years of bringing a fully developed skatepark to our city and at last things are going live!
July 23rd is YOUR opportunity to come out to The Wig to discuss with locals and pros alike on what YOU would like to see at our newest local skatepark. Josh Matthews, Marius Syvanen, Joey Pepper, Dan Plunkett, Al Partanen, and Pat Moran will be there providing support to our ever growing scene (and providing entertainment); come kick it over some taco's, tunes, politics, and skating obviously. Also, the word is: the one who is most punctual at this event could win a prize package, and I mean c'mon with this many shops backing this development along with Levi's and Community Push that's got to be a pretty great prize pack!
