Derrick Dykas has done so much for the Detroit skateboard scene through his organization Community Push. It has transformed our skateboard scene and captured national attention (and capital!). His commitment and motivation have inspired Ryan Sheckler to Donate Concrete tools to help the cause. Community Push is behind "The WIG" a DIY skatepark located at 801 Selden and The John C Lodge Service Drive.Hyped to see Transworld Skateboarding covering the efforts and undoubtedly bringing more attention to our cause. Crowdfund to expand "The Wig" DIY skatepark in midtown Detroit

Our friends over at Community Push are planning the phase 2 build of "The WIG" A DIY Skatepark Located in Midtown Detroit (Selden and M10 Service Drive) in the spring and need to work up some funds. We have been involved at every stage of this and encourage you to stay involved or get involved. This is a project with all of the funds being invested in the project. The Crowd-funding organization, Patronicity has arranged it so that the Michigan Economic Development Corporation’s (MEDC) Public Spaces Community Places initiative will match all fund raised during this crowd-funding campaign. Community Push May 23rd. Help get a DIY skatepark built in Detroit!

Come to the "Community Push" May 23rd, 2014 @ the Third Street Bar to help get a DIY skatepark built in Detroit!This is a Free Event, but we encourage you to donate! There will be a donation raffle with big prizes. We have some awesome bands/performers volunteering their time to entertain us all. Come out to see NickyStix, Blacker Magick, and Wolf Eyes. Find out exactly what is going on. This is A DIY park, so things will happen very fast. No red tape. Just full throttle park building.
