We're proud to welcome to the team yet another local talent who's skills were honed at the Auburn Hills skatepark, Erik Kata. Kata's got a keen sense of style, a unique ability to skate transition and adapt that to street skating. At some point, It became a no brainer that Kata would make his way onto our skate team. With that said, he earned this with consistent support of the shop, attendance at our events, and being a genuinely inspirational guy to be around. We're excited to see where this new opportunity takes him!

Dominic Palarchio is one talented individual. Whether it be on a snowboard, as part of the Burton Knowbuddy AM program, On a skateboard interacting with the urban landscape of Detroit, or behind the lens documenting Detroit Skateboarding; It's hard to know what direction he's going to go because he's good enough to follow whatever path he chooses. This very much parallels another former employee, Cameron Strand who did this interview with Dominic (and probably helped set this whole thing up). It's no surprise Cameron sees a lot of himself in Dominic. They both come from the same hometown of Brighton, Michigan. They both are a couple of wallflowers, who take a bit of work to get to know and are more...
Go Skateboarding Day was this past Sunday, June 21st and we spent it at The WIG in Detroit. Community Push organized local shops to hold a contest on a feature. We picked the main center quarter pipe feature and it went down. So, it turned out to be more of a contest in who could snake the best, but some trick still went down and prizes were won. As the sun was setting Derek Dykas ran a Dad Jam contest. While I was pretty much skating by myself, I cleaned up and took home the win.Once it was sufficiently dark, Robert Gutowski premiered his all night footage Detroit video, Nightbird. With the help of Redbull Detroit, the video...

Here is a solid edit from Cameron Carmichael. The tricks he is doing are completely mind-melting. Just about every variation of a russian boneless, nollie bigflip noseblunts, rallies, switch whatever to what the hell just happened... All of it styled to the max, effortless, and creative. Easily one of the best people I have ever seen skate. So, this edit has no music, but I bet Cameron Would have you throw on your favorite Zappa song and have you take a safety break for the next minute and 53 seconds.
